A status of submitted applications can be viewed the next day via the WOTC online application.
Certified (CERT) - The application has been approved for the federal tax credit.
Deficient (DEF) - An application is missing required information and/or supporting documentation is needed to finish processing. An automated notice is generated to include the reason the application is deficient. See Page 3 of the ETA Form 9061 for valid forms of supporting documentation.
Denied (DEN)** - The application was denied.
**A reconsideration of a denial may be requested within three years of the denial notice date if there is sufficient information to warrant the reconsideration. To request a reconsideration send a copy of the denial notice along with any new documentation (may include a copy of the 8850 and 9061) to the WOTC mailbox at WOTC_CONTACT@jfs.ohio.gov or fax to (614) 644-7102. Clearly note the information submitted is for reconsideration.
Expired (EXP) - If, after 275 days from the NAR notification, supporting documentation has not been received, the request will expire. Supporting documentation received after an application has expired will still be reviewed.
Non-Actionable Request (NAR) - If, after 90 days, the WOTC office has not received supporting documentation, the case will be moved to NAR status. Supporting documentation received after an application has moved to NAR status will still be reviewed.
No Power of Attorney - Certified (NPC) - Agent Only Category: No Power of Attorney is on file. A POA is required to finish processing.
No Power of Attorney - Denied (NPD) - Agent Only Category: No Power of Attorney is on file. A POA is required to finish processing.
Other Target Group (OTG) – Applications for the vocational rehabilitation and supplemental security income target groups are set to OTG as they await processing.
Out-of-State (OOS) – Applications where benefits from another state are needed to make a determination are set to OOS. They will remain in this status while a request is sent to the appropriate state workforce agency to verify out-of-state benefits.
