Public Assistance Monthly Statistics (PAMS) Report

Background

Since 2002 the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services has posted the Public Assistance Monthly Statistics Report (PAMS).  The report provided counties, stakeholders, and constituents the opportunity to view monthly case summary data for Ohio Works First (OWF), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Publicly Funded Child Care (PFCC).  The report included numbers for recipients, assistance groups and expenditures.

In August 2018 the State of Ohio transitioned, statewide, to a new eligibility system, Ohio Benefits.  This system replaced the Client Registry Information System and Eligibility (CRISE).  With the adoption of the new system the PAMS report has been replaced.

New Report

The new report, the Caseload Summary Statistics Report, provides data for OWF, SNAP and PFCC on a state and county level.  The data will reflect data 2 months prior (example: November data will be posted in January).

The Public Assistance Monthly Statistics (PAMS) reports statewide and county specific information on four ODJFS program areas:

  • Ohio Works First (OWF)
  • Disability Assistance (DA)
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Child Care programs.

For Ohio Work First (OWF) and Disability Assistance (DA), the number of recipients, assistance groups, and expenditures are available. For the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) number of recipients, assistance groups, and total coupons issued are available.  The PAMS report also includes the number of children receiving child day care services by the county and for the state.  In addition to the monthly publications, annual reports for the calendar year and the state fiscal year are available.  The annual reports have tables containing the average monthly number of cases and recipients and total expenditures for these selected human services programs.
