Question:

How long can a program participant receive help with rent using TANF funding?

Answer:

A four month limit for TANF funding applies for help with rent because it is a basic need. However, if the program participant is eligible for WIOA funding then WIOA can pay for additional months of rental assistance. Supportive services must be reasonable and necessary. OAC rule 5101:14-1-05 and 45 C.F.R. 260.31(b).

If a program participant needs assistance paying an old bill to obtain utility services, is this allowable through CCMEP?
