A status of submitted applications can be viewed the next day via the WOTC online application.
Certified (CERT) - The application has been approved for the Federal Tax Credit.
Deficient (DEF) - An application is missing required information or the respective target group has not been reauthorized. An automated notice will be generated.
Denied (DEN)** - The application was denied.
**If you receive a denial notice (DEN), you can request a re-consideration. To appeal, send us a complete packet including copies of all forms and any new documentation, along with proof of mailing. Return with the Denial Notice clearly marked as RECONSIDERATION across the top. We suggest red ink to quickly identify these requests for immediate processing.
Expired (EXP) - If after 365 days from the NAR notification, supporting documentation has not been received, the request will expire.
Manual (MAN) - Information regarding the applicant did not match information in the Ohio benefits database, normally a result of incorrect data such as name, date of birth (DOB) or Social Security number (SSN). It is imperative to enter the name, DOB and SSN as shown on driver's license or Social Security card.
Non-Actionable Request (NAR) - If after 90 days, the WOTC office has not received supporting documentation, the case will be moved to NAR status.
No Power of Attorney - Certified (NPC) - Agent Only Category: No Power of Attorney is on file. Request was certified based on other criteria.
No Power of Attorney - Denied (NPD) - Agent Only Category: No Power of Attorney is on file. Request was denied based on other criteria.
Other Target Group (OTG) - Additional supporting documentation is needed to process. See Page 3 of the ETA Form 9061 for the various types of supporting documentation.
Out-of-State (OOS) - Automated benefits request form is generated and sent to the appropriate state workforce agency to verify out-of-state benefits.
