Job Order Placement

H-2A  Ohio will continue to write the job order upon request of the U.S. DOL OFLC.  A request for the job order information can be e-mailed to flc@jfs.ohio.gov.  A reply will be sent when the job order is written.

H-2B  The State of Ohio will write the job orders for H-2B applications.  Ohio FLC recommends that the employer obtain a prevailing wage determination from the U.S. DOL Office of Foreign Labor Certification (U.S. DOL OFLC)  prior to requesting Ohio FLC to write a job order.

To request that your job order be posted, please complete the job order request form and e-mail it to flc@jfs.ohio.gov or fax it to 614-728-7299.  Job Order requests will be reviewed in the order they are received.  Job orders will be written within 10 working days of receipt of the request.  FLC will send an e-mail to the requestor giving the job order number, open date, and the close date.  Due to recruitment requirements of other U.S. Department of Labor programs, the job orders could be opened longer than the U.S. DOL OFLC minimum requirement of "at least 10 days".

NOTE:  To prevent possible delays, please review each field of the job order request form to ensure your information is complete.

PERM  Placing the job order is the responsibility of the employer.  Regulations require that employers filing permanent alien labor certification applications must place a job posting within the area of intended employment for a period of 30 days.  These job postings are not alien or foreign labor certification job orders.  They must be processed as “Regular Employment job type, staff assisted” .  The Quick Post job order is insufficient.  The employer and/or legal representative must contact a One-Stop Center in the area of intended employment to post a job opening.

            To locate the One-Stop Center nearest the job site, please visit the website at jfs.ohio.gov/workforce/jobseekers/onestopmap.stm and click on the specific county for address and phone number information.  Please have the employer’s Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) available.  When contacting the One-Stop Center, ask to speak with an Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) Employer Services Representative.  The ODJFS staff will assist in placing your job posting.  The job posting:

            Must be listed as a “Regular Employment” job posting;

            Must remain in “Open” status for at least 30 days (To prevent the job order from closing prior to the deadline, we recommend that the job order request 100 referrals);

            May show the legal representative as the contact person;

            Must show the option for the “Public Disclosure” field as Full;
