About Us

Our mission is to provide subject matter expertise to local workforce investment areas on federal grants and contracts, audit resolution, One-Stop System design and certification, Memoranda of Understanding, and Business Plans, as an integral part of the workforce investment system. Operations and Production staff provides a broad spectrum of communication and information services and coordinates logistics for meetings and special events.

Bureau Sections

One-Stop System Section
State level oversight of the One-Stop System is conducted by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services' (ODJFS) Office of Workforce Development/One-Stop Section staff. This staff of seven has responsibility for the One-Stop Certification process, ensuring completion of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs)/Business Plans, conducting quarterly workshops and seminars, conducting monthly "Ohio One Stop News Updates" statewide videoconferences, providing updated information to the www.ohioworkforce411.gov website, providing and coordinating technical assistance in the local workforce areas, and serving as the One-Stop Operator point of contact. Additionally, senior staff at ODJFS is involved in partner coordination and collaboration through various venues such as the Jobs Cabinet and interagency workgroups.

Grants and Audit Resolution Section
The Grants and Audit Resolution Section is responsible for grant and contract administration for the programs overseen by the Office of Workforce Development. These programs include, but are not limited to, the Workforce Investment Act, Veterans Programs, Labor Market Information (LMI), and National Emergency Grants (NEG). The section also conducts audit resolution activity for these programs based on reviews and monitoring by the Office of Research Assessment and Accountability (ORAA), the Department of Labor (DOL), the Office of Inspector general (OIG), the State of Ohio Auditor. The unit does not address A-133 audit resolution.

Operations and Production Section
The Operations and Production Unit is responsible for assisting the Office of Workforce Development with its diverse communications and information service needs. The section maintains the www.ohioworkforce411.gov website and data for the US Department of Labor's US Service Locator web service, and coordinates statewide video conferences with local workforce development professionals. Other duties include database management, research, e-mail-based communication, and graphics and document production. The unit also coordinates logistics for meetings and other special events.
