  • Ongoing--Montgomery County  Children Services' recruitment van travels to Dayton-area events to provide information about the need for foster and adoptive parents.  If you would like more information or to have the van at your next event, contact Dale Richardson at (937) 224-KIDS.

Meetings

  • Various dates each month -- Independent neighborhood support groups run by and for foster, adoptive and kinship parents and caregivers are currently meeting in five different areas of Cincinnati and its suburbs. Additional neighborhood groups will be formed if sufficient interest is generated. Current foster license or recent involvement with the system is not required.   • 3rd Monday of every month -- FAST: Foster Adoption Support Team will be meeting at 7 p.m. at the Butler County CSB Building at 300 North Fair Avenue in Hamilton, OH. Drinks and snacks are provided. Babysitting is provided for Butler County children. Call ahead to reserve a spot for your child/children: 726-6642, ask for Tracy.   • 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month-- The Butler County Children Services Board will host Information Meetings for prospective foster and adoptive families. The meetings will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at BCCSB headquarters at 300 North Fair Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45011.   • 3rd Tuesday of every month-- Families for Waiting Children support group provides information and support to families adopting children from the public adoption system and invites those in any phase of the adoption process. The group meets from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Adoption Network, 1667 East 40th Street, Cleveland. For additional information or to RSVP please call 216-325-1000 or visit www.adoptionnetwork.org.
  • 2nd Thursday of every month--Adoption Cluster/Support Group, 6:30-8:30 p.m., 3955 Euclid Avenue, 3rd Floor, Cleveland, Ohio. Contact Michele at (216) 381-2611 or at michelemvm@msn.com for more information. Sponsored by Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services.
  • Every Friday--Support group for current and prospective adoptive parents, especially for those who have adopted or want to adopt special-needs children from public foster care agencies within Ohio or in other U.S. states.   • 3rd Saturday of every month--Families Woven From the Heart meets 3rd Sat of every month at 3:30 p.m. in Akron to discuss pre- and post-adoption issues and provide support before, during and after adoption.   • 3rd Saturday of every month--Support group for potential adoptive parents and adoptive and foster parents with special needs and non-special needs children, 1025 N.
