September 17, 2010 - Release 1
A new CMS requirement for state Medicaid programs is to base Medicaid systems on a new standard model. This model is called Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA). The MITA model provides framework for the improvement of new Medicaid systems being developed to assist with data management among state organizations, other states, the federal government and other healthcare partners.

August 19, 2011 - Eligibility and Payment Issues
The new Medicaid Information Technology System (MITS) went live on August 2, 2011. Since then, MITS
has processed almost 3.8 million claims and disbursed more than $438 million to providers. As with any
new system, however, especially a system this large and complex, technical issues inevitably arise.

February 24, 2011 - MITS Update: Go-Live
A new “Go-live” date will be identified in the very near future, once all “readiness
criteria” have been met with confidence, and our state partners and ODJFS staff is
satisfied that all components of the new system are completely functional.
