Specialized Training Requirements

All administrators and lead and assistant teachers must complete 20 hours of specialized training every two years.
 
All administrators and lead and assistant teachers must complete 10 hours of prerequisite specialized training based upon their hire date at the program.

All administrators and lead and assistant teachers must complete 10 hours of prerequisite specialized
training based upon their hire date at the program.

  1. Administrators:  7.5 hour Administrator Rules Training and 2.5 hours of approved SUTQ training
  2. Infant/Toddler:   10 hours of Infant/Toddler Guidelines Modules 
  3. Preschool:        10 hours of Early Learning Content Standards Training
    1. Pre-K/Kindergarten SIRI, CORE Curriculum and Ohio Early Learning Content
      Standards Training Sessions (Offered by ECQ-Net)
    2. Ohio's Early Learning Content Standard and Language and Literacy training
      provided by the local Resource and Referral Agencies
  4. Schoolage:        10 hours of It's Series Training for Schoolage Staff

    Type A Home Providers please note:  If your Type A Home is licensed to serve infants and/or toddlers regardless if any are currently enrolled in the Type A Home, lead and assistant teachers must take the
    infant and toddler guidelines training.  All modules must be completed prior to taking any other Step Up
    To Quality approved specialized training.

     On-going Annual Training Requirements
    Upon completion of the prerequisites, staff can take any other approved training in order to fulfill annual specialized training requirements, as long as it is aligned with the individual's professional development plan.
