First Aid for Child Care Center Personnel

First Aid Training for child care providers working in licensed centers or Type A Homes is required by Rules 5101:2-12-27 and 5101:2-13-27. This training can be taught by a licensed physician or registered nurse, an emergency medical service instructor or an authorized trainer for a health organization approved by the department in collaboration with the Ohio Department of Health.

The first aid curriculum developed in collaboration with the Department of Public Safety is available on the EMS - Children website, First Aid for Child Care Center Personnel.
