Job & Family Services - Office of Research, Assessment and Accountability
Research and Reports Section

Federal Reports staff conducts a variety of research and evaluation projects to assist policymakers and Ohio citizens in assessing the effects of ODJFS programs. The Federal Reports Section has two major functions:  1) to produce state and federal program participation reports, and 2) to evaluate the impacts of policies and programs.

State and Federal Reports

Program participation reports are produced monthly, quarterly, annually, or on an ad hoc basis.  These reports are used by federal, state, and county staffs for planning, program improvement, and decision-making purposes.    Some of the reports are required by the federal government, some are published for public consumption, and some are for internal agency consumption.  A list of reports is provided below.

  • OWF Participation Rates Report
  • Prevention, Retention & Contingency (PRC) Reports
  • Public Assistance Monthly Statistics (PAMS) Report
  • Reports to Satisfy Requirements of ORC 5101.97 (House Bill 117)
  • Time Limit Reports
  • Research

Research and evaluation is conducted in response to policy questions, legislative mandates, and requests for assessing program impacts.  The research staff within the Federal Reporting Section creates research designs, develops databases, builds models, crafts questionnaires, analyzes data for correlational and causal relationships, and manages short-term and long-term program evaluations using both qualitative and quantitative research methods.   For the section’s projects and published evaluation reports, click on the link below.
