Medicaid Children's Health and Wellness Initiative
Governor Strickland's Turnaround Ohio vision includes improving children's access to health care. Each year, Ohio Medicaid covers approximately 1.2 million children from birth through age 20. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Office of Ohio Health Plans, has developed a Medicaid Children's Health and Wellness Initiative led by an internal Medicaid Children's Health and Wellness Team and an external Steering Committee of our Sister agencies to support this vision. This collaborative effort involves representatives from the Ohio Departments of Health, Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services, Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, Education and also the Governor's Office of Budget and Management who serve on the Steering Committee.
