More Pregnant Women are Eligible for Health Care Coverage

Ohio Medicaid’s Healthy Start program has expanded to cover more of Ohio’s pregnant women to ensure they get the vital prenatal care services they need. Once eligible, pregnant women can continue to receive care at no cost until 60 days after giving birth. Plus, babies born to eligible mothers automatically qualify for Medicaid for their first year of life.

Additionally, Ohio Medicaid is extending free health care coverage to youth who:

  • Are age 18 to age 21
  • Were in foster care at age 18
  • Were funded by IV-E or received independent living services
  • Meet basic Medicaid eligiblity requirements
