Bureau of Consumer & Program Support (BCPS)
Mission: to improve access to health care coverage and services by providing Ohioans, business partners and stakeholders with comprehensive information and support.
BCPS was created in 1995 to provide a more comprehensive approach to
administering Ohio Medicaid. Prior to 1995, Ohio Medicaid was primarily considered a payer of health care claims with less emphasis on quality or access to care. The inception of BCPS created a more far-reaching approach to providing health care with a specific focus on addressing access issues which encompass consumers and the county eligibility determination process.
